Association of Port Health Authorities

The Draft Official Feed & Food Controls (England) Regulations 2007

Deadline for response 20th July 2007. APHA have now responded to this consultation. The response can be downloaded here.

The 2007 OFFC regulations are set to replace the 2006 Regulations and clarify a number of areas from the 2006 regulations including those relating to charging for carrying out enforcement work in relation to non-compliant consignments and detention powers.

The regulations make provision for the service of a detention notice as well as making it an offence to fail to comply it. Changes are also being made to allow HMRC do hold consignments at the port - to provide legal grounding for the establishment of national profiles to identify consignments of controlled NAO product.

APHA will be formulating a consolidated response and welcome contributions by the 13th July.

The consultation package is available here: http://www.food.gov.uk/consultations/consulteng/2007/offceng07
